San Juan Islands

Whale Watching
Pods of orcas swim past the islands, along with humpback whales, seals, and porpoises. Lime Kiln Point is nicknamed Whale Watch Park because you can spot them right from shore.
Ferry Rides
Big green-and-white ferries carry cars and people between the islands over calm water. The ride itself is an adventure, with sea air, seabirds, and views in every direction.
Island Towns
Friday Harbor and other small towns have ice cream shops, art galleries, and a whale museum. Life moves slowly here, perfect for biking, kayaking, and beachcombing.
