Bonneville Salt Flats

The Bonneville Salt Flats are a huge, flat plain of hard white salt left behind by an ancient lake. The bright white ground stretches so far that it looks like a frozen ocean or a field of snow.

This place is world famous as a racetrack where cars and motorcycles have set land speed records. After rain, a thin layer of water turns the flats into a giant mirror that reflects the sky.
