Congaree National Park
Congaree National Park protects one of the largest old-growth hardwood forests left in America. Towering trees, quiet swamps, and a raised boardwalk let visitors explore without getting their feet wet.
It is famous for having some of the tallest trees in the eastern United States and for its magical firefly show in spring. Families love canoeing the calm creeks and spotting owls, deer, and turtles.
