Portland Japanese Garden

The Portland Japanese Garden is a peaceful garden in the hills above the city, filled with ponds, bridges, waterfalls, and carefully shaped trees. It is designed to feel calm and quiet, like a walk through nature in Japan.

It is considered one of the most beautiful and authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan. Visitors love seeing the koi fish, stone lanterns, and bright red maple leaves in autumn.

Koi and Ponds

Big orange and white koi fish glide through the calm ponds under wooden bridges. Kids love watching them swim up close to say hello.

Colorful Seasons

In spring the cherry blossoms bloom, and in autumn the maple leaves turn brilliant red and orange. Each season paints the garden a different color.

A Quiet Place

The garden is meant for slow walking, deep breaths, and looking closely at nature. It is a lovely spot to feel calm away from the busy city.
