Multnomah Falls
Multnomah Falls is a tall, two-step waterfall that drops 620 feet down a mossy green cliff. A pretty stone bridge lets visitors stand right in the middle of the tumbling water.
It is the tallest waterfall in Oregon and one of the most visited spots in the whole state. Millions of people come each year to feel the cool mist and snap photos from the famous Benson Bridge.
The Famous Bridge
Benson Bridge crosses right between the upper and lower falls, giving one of the best waterfall views anywhere. It is an easy short walk from the parking area for the whole family.
Green and Misty
Ferns, moss, and tall trees grow all around because the falling water keeps the air cool and damp. It feels like stepping into a fairy-tale forest.
Hiking Higher
A paved trail zigzags up to the very top of the falls, where you can look out over the Columbia River Gorge. Slower hikers can rest on benches along the way.
