Taos Pueblo

Taos Pueblo is an ancient village of earth-colored adobe homes built more than 1,000 years ago. Native American families have lived here without stopping the whole time.

It is famous as one of the oldest lived-in places in all of North America. Visitors love the tall stacked homes, handmade crafts, and warm stories shared by the Taos people.

Ancient Adobe Homes

The buildings are made from mud, straw, and water dried in the sun. Some stand several floors tall and are connected by ladders.
