The Balloon Fiesta is a giant festival in Albuquerque where hundreds of hot air balloons fill the morning sky. It happens every October and is the biggest balloon event on Earth.
People love watching balloons shaped like animals, cartoon characters, and rainbow patterns rise together. At night the balloons glow like giant light bulbs during the famous Balloon Glow.
Early in the morning hundreds of balloons lift off at almost the same time. The sky fills with color as they float higher and higher.
Some balloons look like bees, puppies, castles, or friendly monsters. Kids love spotting their favorite silly shapes among the crowd.
After dark the balloons stay on the ground and light up their burners together. They shine like a field of huge glowing lanterns.
