Chimney Rock National Historic Site
Chimney Rock is a tall, pointy rock spire that rises high above the prairie in western Nebraska. It looks like a giant stone chimney reaching up toward the sky.
This famous landmark guided thousands of pioneers traveling west on the Oregon Trail long ago. Today it is one of the most recognized natural symbols of Nebraska and appears on the state quarter.
