Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park

Ashfall is a special place where scientists dig up ancient animals that died in a volcano ash cloud millions of years ago. You can watch the fossils being uncovered right where they lay.

It is famous for its perfectly preserved rhinos, horses, and camels frozen in time in the ancient ash. Kids and grown-ups love watching real paleontologists work inside the big Rhino Barn.
