Mississippi Petrified Forest

Mississippi Petrified Forest

The Mississippi Petrified Forest is a special place where ancient trees turned into stone millions of years ago. You can walk a nature trail and see giant logs that look like wood but are actually solid rock.

It is famous as the only petrified forest in the eastern United States and is a registered natural landmark. Kids love touching the stone logs and visiting the earth science museum full of sparkling rocks and fossils.
