Boston Common and Public Garden
Boston Common is the oldest public park in the United States, first used in 1634. Right beside it, the Public Garden blooms with flowers, ponds, and famous Swan Boats.
Families love riding the pedal-powered Swan Boats and visiting the beloved duckling statues. In winter the Frog Pond becomes a magical ice-skating rink for everyone.
Activities
You can glide across the pond on a Swan Boat or ice-skate on the Frog Pond in winter. Kids climb on the bronze Make Way for Ducklings statues.
Scenery
Weeping willow trees hang over the water and flower beds bloom in bright colors each spring. A pretty little footbridge crosses the calm garden lagoon.
History
For centuries this green space has been a gathering place for the whole city of Boston. Once a spot for grazing cows, it is now enjoyed by families every day.
