Red River Gorge

Red River Gorge

Red River Gorge is a beautiful canyon area in eastern Kentucky full of cliffs and stone arches. It sits inside the Daniel Boone National Forest.

People love hiking here to see natural rock bridges that look like they were built by giants. It is famous for its huge stone arches and for being a top place to climb rocks.

Natural Stone Arches

The gorge has more than one hundred natural arches carved by wind and water over a very long time. Sky Bridge and Natural Bridge are famous ones you can walk right up to.

Hiking Trails

Trails wind through tall trees, past creeks, and up to lookout points with big views. There are short easy walks perfect for families with children.

Forest Wildlife

The green forest is home to deer, black bears, owls, and colorful birds. In autumn the leaves turn bright red and orange, making the whole gorge glow.
