Cumberland Gap National Historical Park
Cumberland Gap is a natural mountain pass where Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia meet. Long ago it was the famous doorway that pioneers used to travel west.
Visitors love standing at the high overlook where they can see three states at once. It is famous as the trail that Daniel Boone helped open for thousands of early settlers.
Pinnacle Overlook
From this high point you can see mountains rolling into the distance and three states at the same time. It is a great spot for a family photo.
Pioneer History
This pass was the main road for pioneers heading into the wild west long ago. Rangers tell exciting stories about Daniel Boone and the brave travelers.
Caves and Trails
The park has a guided cave tour and many trails through the mountain forest. You might spot deer, birds, and wildflowers along the way.
