Cumberland Falls
Cumberland Falls is a wide, powerful waterfall in southern Kentucky, nicknamed the Niagara of the South. It drops water into a rocky river inside a state park.
It is famous for a magical moonbow, a rainbow made by moonlight that appears on clear full moon nights. Families love the roaring water, the misty air, and the peaceful forest around it.
The Moonbow
On clear nights with a full moon, a glowing rainbow appears in the waterfall mist. This moonbow is very rare and Cumberland Falls is one of the only places on Earth to see it.
Viewing Platforms
Safe railed platforms let you stand close and feel the cool mist on your face. The rushing water is loud and exciting to watch.
Park Adventures
The state park has hiking trails, picnic spots, and gentle river rafting in summer. You can spend a whole day exploring the woods and water.
