Sedgwick County Zoo

The Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita is one of the largest and most-visited zoos in the country. It is home to thousands of animals from all over the world in natural, open habitats.

It is famous for its huge, realistic exhibits where animals roam like they would in the wild. Kids love the elephants, gorillas, giraffes, and the boat and train rides through the animal areas.

Activities

A boat ride and a train carry families past the animals, and there is a petting area with friendly farm animals. Feeding times let kids watch keepers up close.

Habitats

Exhibits are built to look like the animals' real homes, from African plains to a tropical jungle. Glass tunnels let you get nose-to-nose with the creatures.
