Boot Hill Museum
Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City brings the Old West back to life on the site of a real frontier cemetery. It is a re-created 1870s town with wooden storefronts, a saloon, and costumed characters.
It is famous as the heart of legendary Dodge City, once the wildest cowboy town in America. Kids love the gunfight shows, stagecoach rides, and stepping into shops that look just like the cowboy days.
History
Dodge City was a famous cattle-trail town where cowboys and lawmen once roamed. The museum is built on the old Boot Hill cemetery from the 1870s.
Activities
Actors put on live gunfight shows in the street and old-time variety performances. Families can ride a stagecoach and pan for treasures.
Exhibits
The re-created town has a general store, a blacksmith, a schoolhouse, and a saloon. Thousands of real Old West objects tell the story of frontier life.
