Marengo Cave

Marengo Cave is an underground world of rooms and passages hidden beneath southern Indiana. Guided tours take you down into the cool cave to see amazing rock formations.

It is famous as a National Natural Landmark filled with dripping stalactites and stone columns. Visitors love the mystery of exploring a cave that was discovered by two children long ago.

Amazing Formations

Pointy stalactites hang from the ceiling and stone columns rise from the floor, all made by dripping water over thousands of years. Colored lights make them sparkle like a fairy world.

Always Cool Inside

Deep underground the cave stays the same cool temperature all year, even in summer. Bring a light jacket because it feels refreshingly chilly.

A Kid Discovery

The cave was found in 1883 by two curious children who crawled inside to explore. Guides tell the fun story as you follow the same path they took.
