Indianapolis Motor Speedway
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a giant oval race track in Speedway, Indiana, where super-fast cars zoom around at amazing speeds. It is one of the biggest and most famous racing places in the whole world.
It is famous for the Indianapolis 500, a huge race held every May that people love watching. Fans from all over the world come to feel the roar of the engines and the excitement of the crowd.
The Big Race
The Indianapolis 500 happens every year around Memorial Day weekend, and drivers race 200 laps around the track. It is called The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
The Museum
Right inside the track there is a fun museum full of shiny old race cars and trophies. You can even take a ride to see the famous track up close.
Kissing the Bricks
A strip of old bricks still sits at the finish line, a leftover from long ago when the whole track was brick. Winners kneel down and kiss the bricks to celebrate.
