Bruneau Dunes State Park
Bruneau Dunes State Park is home to some of the tallest sand dunes in North America, sitting right beside small desert lakes. The giant hills of soft sand are perfect for climbing and sliding.
It is famous for one huge dune that rises about 470 feet, one of the tallest single dunes on the continent. Kids love sandboarding down the slopes and looking through the park's big telescope at night.

Visitors can rent boards and slide down the giant dunes, a bit like snowboarding but on warm sand.

The park has its own observatory where families can look through a large telescope at planets and stars.

Days can be hot and sunny, so the best time to climb the dunes is early morning or evening when the sand is cooler.
