Warm and humid, with hot summers and mild winters. Average highs are about 90F (32C) in summer and 55F (13C) in winter, with plenty of rain all year.

Famous for growing juicy peaches, plus peanuts, pecans, and chicken farming. Atlanta is a big center for business, movies, and the airline and shipping industries.

Savannah with its pretty old squares and oak trees, the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta (one of the largest in the world), and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the north.

Stone Mountain, a huge dome of granite; the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Atlanta; and the wild Okefenokee Swamp full of alligators.
A little history
Georgia was the last of the original 13 colonies, founded in 1732, and became the 4th state in 1788. It grew with cotton farms and later became a leader of the New South.
Fun fact
Coca-Cola was invented in Atlanta in 1886, and Georgia grows some of the sweetest peaches and Vidalia onions in the country.
