Hammonasset Beach State Park
Hammonasset Beach is the largest shoreline park in Connecticut, with a long sandy beach along Long Island Sound. There is a boardwalk, calm water for swimming, and lots of space to build sandcastles.

Camping

Shore Wildlife
The park's nature center teaches you about crabs, herons, and other creatures of the salt marsh. Bird watchers come to spot ospreys diving for fish.
