Dinosaur State Park
Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill is built around real dinosaur footprints that were found in the ground over 200 million years old. A giant dome covers hundreds of the tracks so you can walk right up and see them.
It is famous for having one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America, hidden right under Connecticut soil. Kids love the life-size dinosaur models and, in summer, making their own footprint casts to take home.
Real Footprints
Hundreds of true dinosaur tracks are preserved in stone under a big dome. They were made by dinosaurs walking through mud a very, very long time ago.
Make a Cast
In the warm months you can pour plaster into a track mold and make your own dinosaur footprint. It is a fun souvenir you get to keep.
Nature Trails
Outside the dome there are quiet trails through woods and gardens full of ancient-looking plants. It feels like stepping back to the time of the dinosaurs.
