Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods is a free public park in Colorado Springs famous for giant red sandstone rocks that rise straight out of the ground. Some of these fins and towers are taller than a ten-story building.

People love it for the bright red rocks glowing against the blue sky with snowy Pikes Peak behind them. Easy paved trails let everyone, including little kids and grandparents, walk right up to the towering stones.

History

The rocks formed hundreds of millions of years ago, and the land was given to the city so it would stay free for everyone forever.
