Death Valley National Park

Very Hot Weather
Summers here can be hotter than an oven, so most families visit in the cooler months of winter and spring. Always carry plenty of water, because the dry desert air makes you thirsty fast.
Amazing Scenery
You can climb golden sand dunes, walk on a crunchy white salt flat, and see hills painted in shades of pink and gold. A spot called Artists Palette looks like someone splashed rainbow colors across the rocks.
Starry Nights
Because the park is so far from city lights, the night sky fills up with thousands of twinkling stars. On a clear night you can even see the milky band of our galaxy stretching overhead.
