The Famous Bridge
Bixby Bridge arches gracefully across a deep canyon and is one of the most photographed spots on the coast. Standing near it, you can watch waves crash on the rocks far below.
Ocean Wildlife
From the cliffs you might spot sea otters floating on their backs, seals napping on rocks, and whales spouting far out at sea. Bring binoculars, and watch for gray whales as they swim past during their long journeys.
Purple Sand Beach
One special beach here has sand tinted purple by tiny bits of mineral washed down from the hills. Waterfalls that pour right onto the sand make Big Sur's beaches feel truly magical.
