Petit Jean State Park

Petit Jean State Park

Petit Jean State Park sits on a flat-topped mountain overlooking the Arkansas River valley. It was the very first state park in Arkansas and is loved for its waterfall, canyons, and stone lodge.

The star of the park is Cedar Falls, a tall waterfall you reach on a fun hiking trail. Families come to hike, picnic, and take in the big views from the mountaintop.

This beautiful waterfall drops about 95 feet into a rocky pool below. The trail down to it winds through a shady canyon full of ferns and big boulders.
