Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site
Little Rock Central High School is a real, still-working high school that is also a national historic site. It is famous for an important moment in the story of fairness and equal rights in America.
In 1957 nine brave Black students, called the Little Rock Nine, helped open the school to all children no matter their skin color. A visitor center tells their courageous story so everyone can learn from it.

Across the street, a friendly museum shows photos, stories, and displays about that important time. Rangers help families understand the history.
A Beautiful Old Building
The school is a grand brick building built in 1927 that was once called the most beautiful high school in America. Students still learn there today.
