Tracy Arm Fjord
Tracy Arm Fjord is a narrow, winding sea channel south of Juneau lined with steep granite cliffs and cascading waterfalls. At its end sit the twin Sawyer Glaciers, which drop bright blue ice into the water.
Tracy Arm is famous for its breathtaking scenery, often called a mini Yosemite carved by ice. Visitors love cruising past floating icebergs where harbor seals rest, with waterfalls tumbling down cliffs on both sides.
Icebergs and Seals
Chunks of ice float in the fjord in every shape you can imagine, glowing white and blue. Harbor seals like to rest on the icebergs with their babies, safe from hungry orcas.
Towering Cliffs
The fjord's rock walls rise thousands of feet straight up from the water, carved smooth by ancient glaciers. Dozens of skinny waterfalls spill down the cliffs after the snow melts.
Sawyer Glaciers
At the very end of the fjord wait two glaciers that reach all the way down to the sea. Boats stop a safe distance away to watch and listen as the ice crackles and pops.
