Little River Canyon National Preserve
Little River Canyon is a deep, green canyon carved by a river that flows along the top of a mountain. Waterfalls, cliffs, and swimming holes fill this wild and beautiful place.
It is famous as one of the deepest canyons in the eastern United States and a favorite spot for its splashing waterfall. Families love the scenic drive along the rim with lookout after lookout.
Waterfall
Little River Falls tumbles over the rocks and is easy to reach and watch. On warm days you can hear it roaring from the overlook.
Canyon Views
A road runs along the top edge of the canyon with many spots to stop and look down. The steep green walls drop far below to the river.
Wildlife
The preserve is home to birds, turtles, and fish in the clear river. Keep your eyes open and you might spot a hawk gliding over the canyon.
