Birmingham Zoo
The Birmingham Zoo is Alabama's biggest zoo, home to hundreds of animals from all over the world. You can meet elephants, lions, giraffes, and playful sea lions all in one day.
It is famous and loved for its big animals and its splash pad where kids cool off in summer. There is also a petting area where you can gently touch friendly farm animals.

Big Animals
You can watch elephants splash and rhinos munch grass up close. The giraffes are so tall they can look right over the fence.

Splash and Play
On hot days a splash pad shoots water into the air for kids to run through. There is also a playground and a little train ride.

In the petting area you can gently pet goats and see farm animals. Zookeepers often share fun facts about how the animals eat and play.
