Wasilla is a fast-growing town north of Anchorage in a wide green valley full of farms and lakes. Many families live here because it has open space and is close to great outdoor fun.
You can visit the Iditarod sled dog race headquarters and meet real sled dogs, paddle on nearby lakes in summer, and go sledding in winter. The valley grows famously giant vegetables like huge cabbages!
