St. Charles

About 70,000 people.

St. Charles

St. Charles sits by the Missouri River just outside St. Louis and is one of the oldest towns in the state. Its brick Main Street looks much like it did hundreds of years ago.

You can walk the cobblestone Main Street, learn where explorers Lewis and Clark set off, and enjoy a big holiday festival with costumed characters.

Historic Main Street

One of the longest historic main streets in America is full of brick shops and cafes. Horse carriages sometimes clip-clop past the old buildings.

Lewis and Clark

The famous explorers gathered here before their journey across the West. A riverside center shows their boats, maps, and adventures.
