Sioux Falls is the biggest city in South Dakota and the busy heart of the whole state. It is named after the beautiful pink-rock waterfalls that tumble right through the middle of town.
You can watch the roaring waterfalls at Falls Park, ride the wooden carousel and see animals at the Great Plains Zoo, or hunt for the many colorful sculptures scattered downtown.

Falls Park
This famous park wraps around the pink quartzite waterfalls that gave the city its name. A tall viewing tower lets you look out over the tumbling water and the whole park below.

Downtown Sioux Falls is full of shops, cafes and outdoor art. Every year new bronze sculptures appear along the sidewalks for a fun art walk the whole family can enjoy.
