Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah and its biggest city, tucked right up against the tall Wasatch Mountains. It grew up as a pioneer town and today it is the busy heart of the whole state.
You can explore Temple Square and its pretty gardens, ride a train at the old Union Station, or drive up to the Great Salt Lake to float in the super salty water. Ski resorts are only a short trip away in winter.

Downtown Salt Lake City has wide, easy-to-follow streets, tall buildings, and the famous Temple Square right in the middle. A free train called TRAX helps people zip around the city center.

The city sits between big mountains and the Great Salt Lake, so nature is never far. Families love Liberty Park, the aviary full of colorful birds, and quick hikes up nearby canyons.
