Las Cruces

About 115,000 people.

Las Cruces is the second biggest city in New Mexico and sits in the sunny south near the Organ Mountains. It is a friendly college town surrounded by farms and chile pepper fields.

You can hike in the jagged Organ Mountains, visit the space history museum, and taste some of the best green chile in the world at a local farmers market.

Organ Mountains

These tall, pointy peaks look like the pipes of a giant organ and stand guard over the city. Families love hiking, spotting wildlife, and watching the mountains turn gold at sunset.

Farms and Chile

The land around Las Cruces grows famous New Mexico chile peppers, pecans, and cotton. In the fall you can smell chiles roasting all over town, a smell locals absolutely love.
