Hilo

About 45,000 people.

Hilo is the biggest town on the Big Island of Hawaii and gets lots of rain, which makes it wonderfully green. It is a gateway to volcanoes, waterfalls, and rainforests.

You can see Rainbow Falls sparkle in the morning sun, visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park nearby, and learn about the ocean at the Mokupapapa Discovery Center. The farmers market is full of tropical fruit.
