Charleston

Charleston is South Carolina's oldest and largest city, sitting right where two rivers meet the sea. It is famous for its colorful old houses, cobblestone streets, and a long history that goes back over 300 years.

You can ride a horse-drawn carriage past pastel houses on Rainbow Row, walk out on a pier to see dolphins, and visit the giant aquarium full of sharks and sea turtles.

The old part of Charleston is full of pastel houses, church steeples, and open-air markets where sweet-grass baskets are woven by hand.
