Birmingham

About 197,000 people.

Birmingham

Birmingham is Alabama's second-largest city and grew quickly thanks to iron and steel making. It also played a very important role in the history of civil rights in America.

You can meet the giant iron statue of Vulcan on a hill above the city, learn history at the Civil Rights Institute, and see animals at the Birmingham Zoo.
