Canaima National Park
Canaima National Park is a giant protected wilderness in southeast Venezuela full of pink-sand lagoons, waterfalls, and towering flat mountains. It is one of the largest national parks in the world.
Visitors love the famous Canaima Lagoon where you can swim near roaring waterfalls and even walk behind a curtain of water. Its dreamlike scenery has made it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Pink Sand Lagoon
The lagoon has soft pink and reddish sand, colored by tiny minerals in the water. It looks like a warm tropical beach hidden inside the jungle.
Walk Behind a Waterfall
At Sapo Falls a rocky path lets you walk right behind the rushing water. You can feel the spray and hear the roar all around you.
The Pemon People
The indigenous Pemon people have lived here for a very long time and guide many of the boat trips. They share stories about the mountains and the animals of the park.
