Angel Falls
Angel Falls is the tallest waterfall in the world, dropping almost a kilometer down a giant flat-topped mountain deep in the jungle. The water falls so far that much of it turns into mist before it reaches the bottom.
People from all over the world travel by plane and canoe just to see this amazing curtain of water. It is famous because it is taller than any other waterfall on Earth and looks like it pours straight out of the clouds.
The Tabletop Mountain
The water falls from a huge flat mountain called Auyantepui, which means Devil's Mountain in the local language. These ancient tabletop mountains are some of the oldest rocks on the planet.
Jungle Adventure
To reach the falls you fly in a small plane and then ride a wooden canoe up jungle rivers. The trip feels like a real explorer adventure through the rainforest.
Rainy Season Power
During the rainy months the waterfall is at its strongest and loudest, thundering down the cliff. In the dry season the flow is gentler and you can see the rocky wall behind it.
