Quebrada de los Cuervos
Quebrada de los Cuervos is a deep green ravine and nature reserve in the hills of eastern Uruguay. A river runs through the bottom of the gorge, surrounded by lush forest and steep rocky walls.
Nature lovers treasure it for its hiking trails, cool river pools, and many birds and animals. It is one of the wildest and greenest corners of the whole country.
Hiking the ravine
Winding trails lead down into the deep gorge and along the rushing river. Along the way you cross little wooden bridges and pass mossy rocks and ferns.
Birds and wildlife
The reserve is home to many birds, including the black birds that give the ravine its name. Lucky visitors might also spot small foxes, lizards, and butterflies.
Green forest and rivers
Thick native forest fills the ravine, keeping it cool and shady even on hot days. Clear river pools invite you to dip your feet and listen to the water.
