Cabo Polonio

Cabo Polonio

Cabo Polonio is a tiny wild village on a sandy point where there are no paved roads and almost no electricity. To reach it you ride a big bouncing truck across giant sand dunes.

People treasure it for its huge colony of sea lions, its old lighthouse, and skies so dark you can see thousands of stars. It feels like a peaceful place at the edge of the world.

Sea lion colony

Hundreds of sea lions rest on the rocks below the lighthouse, barking and flopping in the sun. It is one of the biggest sea lion gatherings in all of South America.

Giant sand dunes

Tall dunes surround the village like soft golden hills that you can run and roll down. The bumpy truck ride over them is an adventure all by itself.

A sky full of stars

Because there are almost no lights, the night sky glows with countless stars and the Milky Way. Families lie on the sand and count shooting stars together.
