Sagrada Familia

Sagrada Familia

The Sagrada Familia is a giant, one-of-a-kind church in Barcelona designed by the architect Antoni Gaudi. It has soaring towers and stone shaped to look like plants, animals, and flowing water.

People love it because it looks like a forest turned to stone, and colorful light pours through its stained-glass windows. It has been built slowly for over a hundred years and is still growing taller.

Rainbow Light Inside

Inside, the stained-glass windows glow warm orange on one side and cool blue on the other. As the sun moves, the whole church fills with shifting rainbow colors.

Tree-Like Columns

The tall stone columns split into branches near the ceiling, just like real trees in a forest. Gaudi studied nature closely so his church would feel alive.

Still Being Built

Cranes and builders are still working on the church today, adding new towers year by year. When it is finished it will be the tallest church in the world.
