Lake Titicaca
Lake Titicaca is a huge, deep blue lake shared by Peru and Bolivia high in the mountains. It is the highest lake in the world where big boats can sail.
It is famous for the Uros people, who live on floating islands made entirely of dried reeds. Visitors love riding reed boats and learning how families build homes that float on the water.

Floating islands
The Uros people weave thick reeds into soft islands you can walk on. When an island gets old, they simply add fresh reeds on top.

Culture
Families here wear bright, hand-woven clothes and sing welcome songs to guests. They fish, sail, and cook using the same reeds that make their homes.

Scenery
The water is so clear and blue it seems to touch the sky. Sunrises and sunsets paint the lake in pink and gold.
