Lake Nicaragua
Lake Nicaragua, also called Cocibolca, is the biggest lake in Central America, so wide it looks like a sea. It holds hundreds of islands and even freshwater fish found almost nowhere else.
The lake is famous for its volcano island Ometepe, its tiny Isletas, and its gentle waves lapping the shores of many towns. People love sailing, fishing, and watching sunsets over its huge silver water.
