Nicaragua is warm and tropical all year, hot in the lowlands and milder in the hills. Average highs are about 82F to 92F (28C to 33C). The rainy season is May to October and the dry season is November to April.

Coffee, beef, sugar, gold, and peanuts, plus clothing factories. Coffee and cattle are big exports.

A little history
Indigenous peoples lived here for thousands of years before Nicaragua became a Spanish colony and won its independence in 1821.
