Copan Ruins

Copan Ruins

Copan is an ancient Maya city hidden in the green hills of western Honduras. It is filled with carved stone temples, tall statues, and a giant stairway covered in picture-writing.

Copan is famous for having the most beautiful Maya carvings in all of Central America, made more than a thousand years ago. People from all over the world come to walk among the temples and imagine the kings who once ruled here.
