Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands are a group of volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, about 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador. They are one of the most special wildlife places on the whole planet.
The islands are famous because animals here are not afraid of people, so you can walk right next to giant tortoises, sea lions, and blue-footed boobies. Long ago they helped the scientist Charles Darwin understand how animals change over time.
Amazing Wildlife
You can meet giant tortoises that live over 100 years, playful sea lions napping on the sand, and birds with bright blue feet. Marine iguanas even swim in the sea to eat seaweed.
Snorkeling and Beaches
The clear warm water is perfect for snorkeling with colorful fish, gentle rays, and friendly penguins. Soft white sand beaches make it a fun place to splash and play.
Volcanoes and Nature
The islands were born from volcanoes, so you can see black lava rocks and tall craters. Nature here is protected so it stays wild and beautiful for everyone.
