Cayo Largo del Sur

Cayo Largo del Sur

Cayo Largo del Sur is a slender tropical island off Cuba's southern coast, ringed by some of the finest white-sand beaches in the country. Its calm, glassy water glows in shades of blue and green.

The island is famous as a safe haven where sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Its quiet, sun-drenched beaches and gentle waters make it feel like a peaceful paradise.

Sea Turtles

Cayo Largo is a special place where sea turtles crawl onto the sand to lay their eggs. A turtle center on the island helps baby turtles hatch safely and reach the sea.

Perfect Beaches

The beaches here have some of the softest white sand and calmest water in all of Cuba. Because so few people live on the island, the shores stay clean and wonderfully quiet.

Island Wildlife

Iguanas sunbathe on the warm rocks, and pink flamingos and pelicans visit the shallow lagoons. Colorful fish dart through the coral just below the sparkling surface.
