Tortuguero National Park
Tortuguero is a wild land of jungle rivers and canals on the Caribbean coast, reachable only by boat or small plane. Its name means Land of Turtles, and long dark beaches stretch beside the forest.
It is world-famous because giant sea turtles crawl ashore at night to lay their eggs in the sand. Gliding through the quiet canals to watch birds and caimans feels like a real adventure.
